Be Well At Euroglaze

Post-COVID, staff health and wellbeing have understandably risen right up the agenda for most businesses in the fenestration market. Faced with the current skills shortage as well, there is now widespread recognition that there are commercial as well as welfare benefits to be had from really looking after your team.

Be Well At Euroglaze

Euroglaze, the Barnsley based trade fabricator, is taking a proactive approach to the issue by signing up to the BeWell@Work initiative being run by its local metropolitan borough council. The workplace health initiative helps businesses identify their priorities and provides relevant training for key members of the workforce.

At the outset, Euroglaze ran an employee survey which revealed particular concerns around heart health, so it has already instigated free, regular blood pressure checks at its factory. It has also begun sharing useful workplace health information with staff and signposting staff to external resources to support both mental and physical health.

Martin Nettleton, Euroglaze’s Managing Director, commented: "Staff retention, recruitment and productivity are more important than ever at the moment. We already have very low levels of staff turnover, but if we can keep our staff even healthier and happier, then it’s a big win for the business."

Euroglaze’s commitment to the BeWell@Work programme has already delivered a Bronze good practice award, and it is on course to progress to further awards over the coming months.
