Euroglaze FC Finish as Division 1 Champions and Cup Winners

What a way to finish a season, division 1 champions of the Barnsley and District Sunday League and winners of the BDFA Supplement Trophy. It truly was an agonising wait for the one and only goal of the night, it was a physical and tight game, both teams showing grit and determination.

Euroglaze broke the deadlock half way through the 1st half, frustrated the opposition with skill and patience, leading to many fouls and bookings of the Miners team and a substitution as one of our lads needed medical treatment to his knee which popped in a challenge. But despite a few good efforts and a flurry before the break it remained 1-0 at half time.

More agony as the Miners tried to come back but a sterling middle and back held back the attacks well. Unfortunately Greenie took the brunt of the frustration of the opposition with two closing down with a hard tackle, forcing the game to be delayed while he was treated and made comfortable with a broken leg, not a pretty site. When the game restarted Miners were the strongest for the first 5 minutes, then Euroglaze finished the game with a barrage of efforts, their keeper kept the game alive.
