Euroglaze Supports Christies

16th July 2011

On 10th July 2011, Euroglaze and our customer MSR joined in with the Charity Cycle Ride for Christies, raising funds for the UK's largest Cancer hospital in Manchester.

Euroglaze Supports Christies

Over 2750 people took to their bikes at this years Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride, all united together in support of the cause "a future without cancer" and the money raised from this years event will make a huge difference to the 40,000 patients that visit The Christie each and every year.

There was a real carnival atmosphere on the day, with residents from the villages on the route coming out to give encouragement and support. Martin Roberts from MSR, a recent enthusiast to cycling, had challenged our MD, Martin Nettleton to complete the course.

Martin rode his tandem with pilot and friend of old Mick Lancaster, taking just under four hours to complete the 65 mile course, averaging 17.1mph. They braved the unsettled weather along the route before being met with glorious sunshine and big cheers as they crossed the finish line in Blackpool. They rounded the day off with a well earned beer!

Well done guys!
